What You’ll Need for Installation

The MDV12VP includes the direct vent components required to vent the heater through an exterior wall. Propane supply equipment, gas piping, and connection fittings are not included.

Before installation, you will typically need:

• A propane tank or existing propane supply
• A properly sized low-pressure propane regulator supplying 11" to 13" W.C.
• Properly sized gas piping from the propane supply to the heater
• Manual gas shutoff valve
• Sediment trap / drip leg
• Required fittings for the heater’s 3/8" NPT gas inlet
• A suitable exterior wall location that meets the required installation clearances

Gas line size, regulator requirements, and fittings will vary depending on the distance from the propane tank, total connected propane load, and the existing propane system.

We recommend having the propane supply and final gas connection completed by a qualified gas fitter. Your installer can determine the correct regulator, gas line size, fittings, and shutoff components required for your installation.
