Unique Appliances Classic Retro 24” Off-Grid Propane Range (Battery Ignition)
Questions about this product
Questions about this product
Do these ranges need electricity, or will they work in an outage?
This cooktop and oven has no outlet required. It’s battery-powered, with a single D-cell driving the spark for the cooktop and oven pilot. If needed, you can match-light. The battery compartment is located behind the kick plate on the front.
Can I convert between propane and natural gas?
Yes, they are LPG and NG convertible with the included kit. However, you must change the top-burner orifice, oven main orifice, and pilot orifice. The regulator outputs are 10” w.c. for LP and 4” w.c. for NG. It’s recommended to have a qualified gas technician perform the conversion and verification.
What gas pressure do I need, and what’s the regulator limit?
Supply to the regulator should be 10–12 inches wide (w.c.) on LP or 4–5 inches w.c. on NG. The regulator is rated to 1/2 psi maximum test pressure. After hooking up, check for leaks and seal any openings behind or under the range.
How do I light the oven, and is there a safety shutoff?
Press the oven knob to ignite the pilot and set the temperature. The oven thermostat has a flame-safety device that shuts off gas if the pilot goes out. If the electronic ignition fails, you can match-light as directed.
Any installation clearances or altitude rules I should know?
Use the anti-tip bracket, follow the serial-plate clearances, and keep overhead cabinets at most 13 inches deep above the cooktop. At elevations over 2,000 feet, derate the input by 4 percent for every 1,000 feet.
